China Patent Protection Association: Alipay Blockchain authorized patent ranks first in the world

According to the “Globally Licensed Patent Report on Blockchain in 2020” released by the China Patent Protection Association on July 1, as of May 14, 2020, there are a total of 3924 authorized patents in the blockchain field worldwide, of which the number of patents obtained The largest is the United States, accounting for 39%, followed by South Korea, accounting for 21%, and China ranked third with 19%.

In the ranking of global authorized blockchain patents, Alibaba (Alipay) ranks first in the world with 212 blockchain authorized patents, and the second and third are IBM (136) in the United States and Coinplug in South Korea (107 cases). In addition, Tencent ranked ninth with 42 authorized patents.

According to the report, among the 212 authorized patents of Alibaba (Alipay), 126 are authorized patents in countries/regions outside China, and the percentage of overseas authorizations exceeds 59%.
